Summary Judgment: Judge looks at the evidence that each side intends to offer "prior to trial". If it appears to the Judge that one side clearly will prevail at trial, a summary judgment is granted rather than expend the time, funds and judicial system resources to present it to a jury and get the same result. It meant PBLS' case sucked. jmho
