THIS is the key issue...last i heard the NYC-GPS unit cost is $800 each.....as usual the working guy & gal gets it without the KY jelly by the bureaucrats once again, who stuff their pockets... Q-who owns the system when the cab is junked...the fleet-owner or the driver...????.

Ward: The other issue is installing a credit card machine. It's a matter of costing them money if people use a credit card to pay their fare. They're only calling for a 1 day strike.

The GPS issue is one of their privacy.

People usually complain when a product will catch their cheating, skimming money, not reporting a fare, With this device they will know everywhere they go and if their is gaps company will know why. I'm sure there is a lot of theft.
