I have in essence five different "Investment styles", Core issues, value orphans issues, economic driven trades (like golds, metals, basic industry, or defense which depends on macro trends) swing trades and day trading. In each case, I do a solid FA analysis on the specific stocks that get on my screen. Just a negative FA does not mean the stock does not get in (it does not for Core and value), often a "current" negative FA might indicate that all the bad news is in the price and it can't get worse (like buying chips issue in early July 2002 and October 2002 when they run a string of 10 full days when not a single chip issue was above its 10 DMA, that told me, all the bad news is in, that number cannot go under zero). My swing trading and day trading are about 60% influenced by TA (SNDK and JCOM are a perfect example of great FA, IMTO, but still dangerous TA.)
