Casprs1- if you keep a margin account with 25k in it, is it based on cash/cash and stock/or cash?
Also, do you have to wait 3 days before you can use the money for another trade? For example, say you have 50k in securities and 10k in cash. You buy 5k of stock and sell back for 6k, do you have 11k to buy another stock within the same day or do you need to wait 3 days.?
That is the point ... to the exact letter ... even though I have the money .. why should I pay the interest and fees ... why can;t I merely trade by the rules.
makes no sense why E*trade adopted this ridiculous policy other thasn the fact tyour post is EXACTLY what they want everyone to do so they can generate more revenue off the little guy.
