Management should pay attention to the business not the stock, if business is well, the stock eventually follows. There is also an enormous corporate risk involved when management engages in such an activity, it exposes the company to frivolous suits. Typically, any public pronouncement of management is either vetted with lawyers or at least made through normal news release. Trading boards exchanges are a minefield and management should know better.
