have you seen the ENTIRE contract that GTEL and Vern had? I am SURE you have not. No one but those directly involved have (probably).
But if we were both able to look at it, I'm sure that BOTH parties had stipulations in there regarding the project. I'm SURE that Vern said, "GTEL, as long as you provide me A, B, C and D, then I will provide you a working Stratellite on X date. This date will be contigent upon you providing E, F and G for materials and being able to do X,Y and Z sometime before the launch date." There may have been MANY such stipulations in there.
Who is to say who was in breach of the contract first?
To think Vern would have accepted a contract that said " Here ya go Vern, you said you could do it so do it by X date, nothing withstanding" is ludicruis.
I'm sure that as a "senior level executive in charge of 100's of people", you've not been able to finish projects that were due by such and such a date due to circumstances that were beyond your control.
