It really isn't a problem for me. I just click the little icon and disconnect from the phone line before I shut down.
With the instability of my dialup connection causing my machine to reconnect 4-5 times during the trading day, I just leave the connect automatically on. That way, if I am away from "Trading Central" for a few minutes and the connection gets lost, I don't lose more than a minute's worth of charts.
