Risk & Cole,
IF and really IF they have today 68 customers it would be a huge success.
And IF these 68 can surf (plain and simple) Globetel would be finally on the wireless track.
IF a Subscriber management and a Billing system is in place and handles these few customers flawlessly they would already be on track two.
IF a Network management and a firewall/virus checking system is in place and handles these few hotspots flawlessly they would already be on track three.
And IF, after all this basic stuff runs, they establish a VoIP service on top flawlessly, the cake would be visible.
The implementation of a wireless network requires a very complex task management and enforces a very strict process management. The technical implementation is compared to all the legal and financial stuff easy. This is one of the many reasons why most wireless companies starting with a flat fee.
Until today not one pdf/contract is available that would allow us to assume that Globetel has already archived track one. Globetel's handling of the landing page shows very clear a fundamental lack of understanding how an internet based service HAS to work.
To make my points more clear: IF 68 customers available and the company is willing to go through all required steps to get track one, two, three, it would be the right way for doing business.
