>>>Yes, Bush ultimately "sold" the regime change too heavily based on a weapons of mass destruction angle (in my view, based on heavy pressure from his advisers), but that was only one angle.<<<

The only angle that matters is whether Bush went to war out of concern for an imminent and grave threat from Iraq or if he did it for personal reasons and lied and mislead congress about it. Other than that, I agree with you that O'Neill didn't offer anything new, but he DID, as a former cabinet member, confirm what so many others have already suggested or suspected.

<<Frankly, I think O'Neill is a disgrace and an opportunitst. If you are hired at the highest levels government, please show some class when you're fired, rather than selling a tell-all for-profit book about confidences with the commander in chief.>>

You don't find it a disgrace to have our president fraudulantly sell us lies over national security? You don't find it a disgrace to have American and Iraqui lives wasted for the sakes of oil control??? If anything, it is a disgrace for Americans such as yourself to continue to hide your head in the sand and make excuses for Bush. Our Constitution is being ripped apart by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove and his gang and you cheer on for it to continue. YOU should be ashamed.

Frankly, I applaud O'neil's integrity for not being a Yes man and for having the conscience to tell the world the truth. BTW, 60min reported that he is not receiving one cent for Suskind's book, so you are mistaken if you think he did it for profit.... There are other cabinet members and whitehouse insiders who provided Suskin with factual documents for his book. But they don't have the guts to release their names. O'neil is only one who isn't afraid to stand behind his words.

My understanding is that O'Neill is not getting a penny from that book.
