In a murder trial, the defense attorney was cross-
examining the coroner:

Attorney: Before you signed the death certificate, had
you taken the pulse?

Coroner: No.

Attorney: Did you listen to the heart?

Coroner: No.

Attorney: Did you check for breathing?

Coroner: No.

Attorney: So, when you signed the death certificate,
you weren't sure the man was dead, were you?

Coroner: Well, let me put it this way. The man's brain
was sitting in a jar on my desk. But I guess
it's possible he could be out there practicing
law somewhere.

If you say something in court that is to the best of your recollection it is not perjury. I think Libby saw this as a insignificant event and told the truth as best as he could recall.

Hey, I am a businessman. I own three small business and currently developing a fourth. In between I do a butt load of investing/trading. I forget all kinds of petty and not so petty stuff. This discussion in question that got Libby in trouble was very petty. He gave his recollection of events. Someone else gave theirs. Both could have had it wrong. It was no big deal.

Anyway this incident did not deserve 30 months in jail. That's taking a bunch of life away from someone for such a minor charge.

Someone just PM's me and said that their is a poll out there that said 80% of the public thinks Libby should have received 30 months in jail. That surprises me. Anyone got a link?
