That is essentially how mine have worked in the past. We don't know what each individual's strike price may be, but depending on when they were hired, and how many tiers of option plan there have been, some of them may have stike prices above current market value.

Apart from considerations relating to taxes and dividends (which do not apply here), there are only two reasons why someone exercises an option:

1. The option is about to expire.
2. The holder wishes to sell the underlying shares.

For investors, #1 is neutral and #2 is bearish.
