But that can be a huge consideration Dew if the insiders option holders think that the stock is going to spike in the near future and never look back. In that case, they would be wise to exercise the options while the stock is cheap, thus resulting in a low tax bite, and then hold the stock for 12 months and sell it then for a mere long-term capital gains tax bite.
So the fact that insiders are not exercising options when GTCB is trading near $1 is not, in and by itself, an indication of confidence for the future by these insiders. The biggest bullish indicator would be if they exercised the options currently but did not sell the resulting shares, or only sold enough to pay for the current tax bite...
