Knute- At what age are you permitted to transfer from an IRA to a normal investment account? I think I still have a bit to go.
Also, I know that normally when you withdraw money early from an IRA you pay income taxes plus a penalty for early withdrawal -10% I believe. I wasn't clear what you said happened in your transfer. I know the penalty didn't come into play, but what costs were involved?
'Knute97', I did the exact same thing and paid the tax on the shares as of 2006,I to think it is a prudent move. I did it when the shares were at $2.39.
