Thanks, Bob

I don't completely understand the details you provided but I gather that you intend to restrain the Cookie Monster after you've completed the upgrade. I'm glad because:

1) my browser does not allow exempting a site. It has it's weaknesses but it also has the unquestioned benefit that I'm not subject to the MicroSoft vulnerabilities and "upgrade" cycle. I'm amazed that more people don't grasp the inherent wisdom of K.I.S.S.

2) I've found that I like the idea of seeing who's planting cookies on my machine. I was surprised to find that a couple of sites I visit DON'T. The only place I've found onerous (other than iHub, in its current state) is CBOE where cookie requests come in torrents. At that site, I visit one page once a day, accept as few as possible and go off-line immediately afterwards.

Also, are you knocking on my door more than once or is there a possibility that someone is piggy-backing on your cookie requests. Your requests for a cookie with my User ID are always followed by something like:

The server www.investorshub.com wishes to set a cookie that will be sent only back to itself. The name and the value of the cookie are:

ASPSESSIONIDGQGQQKPC=FNDMNKMBLLMFANDBJMIADGNH
or
ASPSESSIONIDQQQQGKPO=MGNABAADNCAGBLEKFOBPIKAN

and, at various times

=HMFNNKMBKNPOAJFGKOEGDDOB
=MPFNNKMBPGMHCFJBBKIECBJC
=LCGNNKMBHMHNEHJPHONGAILG
=MGGNNKMBCOKJIGBOIFHMMLON
=FIGNNKMBEBALPGBDJHOBIEID
=GLGNNKMBLDMJEJMOKKNCFMLK
=DCHNNKMBIJHJDEOHKNEBJCKO

It appears that a portion of the material on the left is a randomly generated string and all the material on the right is random generate. That yours?

Bob, in my last response to this message I mentioned that I suspect someone is piggybacking on your cookies. I'm beginning to think it's being done by ads.cybertrader.com. Do you have a deal with them? Is there any reason for them to be posting a cookie request immediately following each of yours? I find it a bit worrisome.

Bob, can you give me any idea when this "cookie" thing will be resolved.

I've decided not to reinstate the blind acceptance because I've found that the amount of trash email I'm getting has been sharply reduced by rejecting unwarranted cookies. In the case of iHub, I wouldn't put it on the "trusted" list, even if I could, since that annoying piggy-backer is one of the problems.

I'm now getting 3 requests to post cookies on every navigational move I make on iHub; one for my ID which I always accept and two from the piggybacker which I always reject. That's unacceptable.

I've changed my browser's home page, which used to be iHub, to another site where I'm not inundated with cookie requests. At the moment, I'm coming to iHub about once a day to maintain my board, and that's about it.

I hope you'll be able to resolve this soon.

Fred
