You bring up so many good points. But what I have seen so far are more proof of concepts and were not ‘done’. I had a theory they outsourced this interim app to India and the real app is still somewhere to be released (maybe for May 22). Just a guess. Usually proof of concepts are made to entice financiers and investors.
I agree on all fronts. But 1) the boxing presentation was novice. There were no social integrations. And they really didn’t utilize or show any sort of PPv capability in the app at all. Just streaming. (Which was probably to get feeesback from users and identify bottle necks). 2) Advertisements. Yes. Totally agree. I think. The ad revenue will start right from the start. 3) YouTube yes. People will pay. But they pay for content of which, TPT really doesn’t have or established yet. Think of YouTube in its infancy. It was only ad revenue (which I think this will start as). All those other features were developed over YEARs with money and growth from the ad revenue. Yes I think the 500 million accelerate these features but doesn’t mean it’s done right now. 4) content creators. Yes they will subscribe. However to get people to start using it, I theorize there will be free access sometime to build user base in order to charge at a later time.
When Vume first came out and when I first signed up, there was a blurb that was bypassed for 99 cent monthly fee (for users). I probably woood have paid it. But after sometime, there weren’t enough users. I enjoyed watching The Kid on his bike, in front of his fire pit and seeing his lawn. But I probably woood have dropped off since there wasn’t much in the way of users. Giving early content creators a free path to star will gain users and tactics. And sorry TheKid. I enjoyed your content but wouldn’t have been enough to pay 99 cents a month. BUT when they get more content (and maybe Eurovision will be the initial enticing event to start this) I’d pay 99 cents.
All I’m saying is I agree with you on many fronts. I just don’t think it’s all there yet and needs some more development of features.
All of those features WILL turn it into the multi billion$ company.
