IMO...

Showing this successful data with varying lengths proves to the audience that LWLG's polymer processing and ALD methods work regardless of "shape". I'd have to go back through papers, but I'm fairly sure most EO polymer modulators in recent years have active lengths of 1mm or less. The active region is where the polymer sits. Also, these devices are likely not intended for optimized performance for a customer (like 400G per lane), but specifically designed for this test and that's why they're called reference devices.

Nothing personal taken Fruno as I've made clear here before I'm not well versed or that knowledgeable of the technology and while I realize AI may not be accurate, precise or even that good, it gives me some idea.

You may want to contact IR as they'll likely speak with Lightwave Logic engineers or whoever and get you an answer (if it's not confidential and easily attained)... I've received almost immediate response from them in the past and it may be interesting to see how they get back to you and what they'll have to say:

The “reference designs” were Lightwave Logic’s devices probably made back in 2024, but I don’t know that. Yves responded to me that these devices were not stage 3 customer devices.
