AEHR PR is silent so after specifically examining the ACTUAL Mar 26 PR and my pushback it has a different response. Chat originally was going off the original assumptions on the Lightwave post here, along with Gemini's bad assumptions. 1.6T transceivers right now are in production without novel materials, so this AEHR PR could be addressing that current market only. No way to know.

The Aehr March 31, 2026 order is confirmed to support silicon-photonics-based transceivers for hyperscale AI and cloud data centers, with systems purchased for both engineering qualification and high-volume production. While the press release emphasizes silicon photonics, it is silent on whether any novel materials such as TFLN or EOP are also being evaluated, so there is no public evidence to confirm or exclude their involvement. Based on the available information, the order reflects a production-scale ramp of proven technology, but any statements about exotic modulators would be speculative.
