As a descendant of the Boers (who infamously sided with Nazi Germany), Elon comes from a long line of white supremacist Nazi-sympathizing assholes. So when Musk went full-tilt right-wing with his high-profile political support for German neo-Nazis, far-right extremists, and agreeing with a defense of Hitler’s actions during the Holocaust, among many other white supremacist statements, no one was surprised.
