#447043 RE: JRoon71 #447042

Let’s hope we hear less of this misinformed poster. This poster has contributed significant misinformation and is routinely off topic.
Will Extensions Be Requested (or Granted)?
No extensions are expected or likely at this stage. Here is why:
•  Once merits briefing is closed and the case is calendared for oral argument, the Supreme Court rarely grants extensions of the schedule. The deadlines for all briefs have already passed, and the argument date is fixed by the Court’s calendar.
•  Parties may request extensions before briefing deadlines, but those deadlines have long expired.
•  The Court does not “extend” the term for opinion issuance in the manner suggested. Opinions are released by the end of the current term (late June or early July 2026). If the case is not ready, it may be held over to the October 2026 term, but a delay into 2027 would be highly unusual and is not supported by any docket activity or precedent in this matter.
•  There is no indication in the public docket (as of March 30, 2026) of any motion for extension having been filed by either side.
Realistic Timeline
•  Oral argument remains April 29, 2026.
•  Decision is expected in the June/July 2026 window (standard for cases argued in the April sitting of the current term).
The poster’s expectation of extensions pushing the case into 2027 appears to be speculative and not aligned with the current procedural posture or Supreme Court practice.
