Ireland’s Prime Minister, Micheal Martin, is planning to visit the WH on St.Patrick’s Day this year. According to WSJ today( page A3), Ireland is planning to invest $6.1 billion dollars to support various U.S. companies like “AMZN and other U.S. data center operators”. “ High tech construction [is] Ireland’s largest export sector outside food.”
I am imagining a WH conversation like this, from Martin: “We plan a [something like ~ $100-200 million] investment in shares of Ireland-based Amarin. Its current drug, Vascepa, is produced in the United States and elsewhere.”
From Trump: “That’s great. We will place an embargo on all specific generic IPE labeled products imported into the United States. Members of my cabinet have told me about the egregious fraud two of those generics committed in our Federal Courts and in negotiations with FDA leading to their IPE labels. I’ve read the Ten Commandments. Generics coveted the CVD market of Amarin, they lied and attempted to steal that market and are unfairly competing with Amarin and Vascepa. That remedial embargo should help your Amarin investment increase in value. Did you bring a bowl of shamrocks?”
