This is correct. Bid and ask prices do not show up when the market in stock trading is not open. Even in stocks that trade on the extended hours those bids and asks will not show up if they're marked as regular hours trading. I've had large orders and many stocks that were good until canceled orders in between what was showing when the market was closed as bid and ask. What is shown I believe is standing orders from market makers or just relic bids and ask from the day before. I have even had large bids, the highest bid not fell market close and then it disappeared from level two even though it was a good until canceled order.
