A guess on how to quantify new CBD revenue from President Trumps EO signed on December 18th and Dr. Oz announcing a soon-to-launch pilot program that would allow Americans on Medicare to receive CBD at no charge if their doctors recommend them.
1. As of 2025, 69 million Americans are enrolled in Medicare.
2. Dr Oz stated, “Eligible patients, including those on Medicare Advantage programs administered by private insurance companies, could receive “up to $500” per year to cover hemp-derived CBD products – provided the products meet certain standards of safety and quality”. This is roughly a $40 per month allowance for CBD.
This indicates that for every 1 million persons enrolled in the pilot program and predicting they spend the full $500 amount, could potentially equate to $500M annually in new CBD product sales. The revenue would be split among the companies selected to participate in the program.
Anybody have guesses on number of Americans to enroll and number of companies who will participate?
