Probably the best political riposte I can recall. Kemi Banenoch = Winston Churchill + Maggie Thatcher as to rhetorical skill. She will eventually be the PM.

After reading the comments, the fact that nobody questioned the veracity of these words, or even thoughts belonging to Warren Buffett, this appears to be Canadian government propaganda... to me.

Ummmm...no one has been more of a bully when it comes to the lumber industry than Canada. I experienced it first hand and it is the longest trade war between the two Countries(decades long). They have been total complete pricks with their subsidies and practices. Just saying...some temperment needs to be placed here.

With regards to the steel industry...the tariffs have been a boom here in the US given supply and demand. I'm all onboard free trade and hate tariffs...but you have to understand demand issues et al...our imports are down by a rough 30% in 2025. Our production is up a rough 4% annually while foreign production has decreased by roughly 3%. So the tariffs will/may change when inventory gets to a certain level. It's that simple

This is a little old(a couple of Months)...but it pays off big when paying attention to what is going on.

Remember ...it was never Canada that killed our Steel Industry. It was Ronald Reagan giving in to the service sector. Not to mention US industry with lousy CAPEX spending and outdated equipment allowing Japan and others to enter offering cheaper goods.

and that becomes more evident with each tantrum, evidenced when DJT suspended ALL trade talks with Canada when Ontario placed videos of President Regan's negative comments on tariffs...

That was especially ridiculous.

And now he's saying we're collecting so much in tariffs--the figure, as almost always, is wildly exaggerated--we'll be able to eliminate income tax. Which would, of course, be another huge favor to the rich.

It must just be enormously frustrating to have to deal with him regularly.
