Off course nearly all working journalists have college degrees. That is not in doubt.

But you are quoting Zorax, not a journalist. This one was absolutely right:

Here’s what we don’t say out loud: There’s no money in journalism anymore. No fame, no glamour, no prestige. But there’s lots and lots of money in media—in being a brand, an influencer, a personality. We stopped paying journalists and started rewarding performers.

... We spent a decade-plus dismantling the institutional guardrails that once protected young journalists. Salaries plummeted. Job security evaporated. Newsroom mentorship disappeared. What replaced it? A ruthless attention economy where your Instagram and Twitter followers mattered far more than your editor’s guidance, where “personal brand” became the only portable asset in an industry of constant layoffs and collapses. We told a generation of talented writers: You’re not a reporter for an institution. You ARE the institution. Your access is your value. Your personality is your product.

What he accurately describes is how it works now, and it's very different from how it used to work.

The comment that we don't have journalists any more who had to go through years of college and training, but total failures like loomer making millions who can't even put a whole sentence together correctly has put intelligence out of a job. One can also blame all her empty headed followers who enable her.

My paraphrasing was perhaps confusing.

The point being instead of learned and trained journalists and reporters, there is now an over abundance of internet performers with no journalistic training and maybe not even high school graduation who are making more money than a journalist working a reputable news group (if any are left) has made in their lifetime so far. I didn't imply there are no trained journalist today.
