It doesn’t need to make a reference to plasmonics. That’s all part of the platform. Platform is a loosely used word and really doesn’t mean much. All that means is the PIC design incorporates their polymer.
Whether it be plasmonic modulators, mach zender modulators, a lightwave style slot modulator, or a ring modulators, all of them can use the Perk ‘platform’ because all of them can use polymers.
It would be very consistent with lightwave’s history for them to be announcing an expansion of the existing collaboration having to do with plasmonics since that rd branch has always led the way.
And it would be very consistent with their history of deception to make it sound like it’s a new collaboration, when in reality it’s an expansion of an old collaboration.
As I said I hope it isn’t Nokia. Not sure if you’ve noticed, but I’m certainly not the only one suggesting that’s who it is here. Stonkspro maybe will want to chime in.
