#225153 RE: MeteoricSphinx41 #225147

Don't expect anything from ted to make sense. Let's assume the new Tier1, Inc. is Nokia, using plasmonic modulators. Ted seems to think that's not very important. I disagree - any Tier 1 validation is important.

Ted seems to think that plasmonics are years away from volume manufacturing. He thinks this because GP keeps saying it, but GP has never provided any verification. Where is his information coming from? When was this opinion generated? I posted about a recent (Sept. 2025) patent awarded to Polariton for a plasmonic device with a very different configuration than what GP described. He, like ted, can't seem to understand that Polariton/LWLG are constantly advancing the tech to make it conform to existing manufacturing processes.

Really, would any Tier 1 jump in bed with these 2 small companies if manufacturing at scale was years away? Would Polariton be conducting Telcordia tests on a device that wasn't ready for market?

Ted also doubts that a foundry run has been completed. Would any Tier 1 commit to Stage 3 without having their preferred manufacturing partner providing assurance that they can produce the device(s) at scale? LWLG has made it clear for years that they have been engaging with foundries, so they know what they need. Many patents over the past few years directly address ease of integration of polymers into standard foundry processes - that's how they got PDKs. But, since the PR does not explicitly say a foundry run was completed, ted will not consider that it has.

Just ted being ted.
