Nice connections.

Laughed at this. 8 or 9 starts ago he pitched A ball in Florida in April in front of 327 fans. He catipulted through every level to 2 World series starts in 6 or 7 months. Like moving from Mens Night golf flight A at your local club to the Masters

Yesavage, 22, worked his way through minor leagues

In college, more than a half century ago, my economics 101 professor recommended that students attend an evening presentation by a local stock broker for extra credit. The broker covered three large cap stocks including Caterpillar Tractor which he liked for CAT's prominent role in highway construction, a sector he viewed as growing and highly recession resistant. I'm guessing I was the only student in that big seminar auditorium who had ever bought a single share of stock. I owned shares in 3 or 4 corporations then, but never picked up any CAT.

Tonight I tried to find CAT's price around that period (I don't know the exact date of the seminar). The stock was likely around $40 - $50 or just over $1 split-adjusted according to this website.

CAT is now $577 a share after splitting in 1976, 1994, 1997 and 2005. It's always paid a nice dividend too. CAT has increased its dividend for the past 32 years.
