The “nothing happened” claim is lame and falls apart if you actually read what the 10-K says rather than cherry-picking one line.
The filing literally confirms continued engineering progress during 2024:
“During 2024, the Company’s Flaskworks subsidiary and a specialized contractor developed a GMP-compatible prototype… Another prototype, with smaller dimensions, had been developed in 2023. The Company has determined that the smaller prototype will be preferable… Production of the GMP-grade units will be timed to coincide with the timing for build-out of Grade C labs in the Sawston facility. When the GMP-grade units are delivered, Advent BioServices will undertake qualification and validation of those units, conduct engineering runs and collect data, and apply to regulators for approval to use the system to produce DCVax-L for patients.”
That’s not “on hold.” It’s sequenced execution. MHRA validation has to take place in the same qualified Grade C environment where the units will operate commercially. Building GMP-grade devices months before those rooms are ready would be both wasteful and non-compliant under UK ATMP GMP rules.
The timeline described means: Flaskworks optimization => completed (smaller, more efficient prototype chosen). Sawston Grade C cleanrooms => built in parallel, so validation happens in the correct facility. Advent => still the named entity to perform qualification and regulatory submission.
That’s why the Oct 2025 Advent acquisition matters. Once Advent became a wholly owned NWBO subsidiary, MHRA can now treat one integrated manufacturer as the accountable party for Flaskworks validation and DCVax-L production. That consolidation was almost certainly a regulatory prerequisite, not an afterthought. So no, NWBO didn’t “decide not to spend.” They sequenced spending in line with regulatory readiness exactly what a serious GMP operator is supposed to do.
Flaskworks progress isn’t stalled; it’s in final alignment with Sawston’s completion and MHRA certification. That’s how you build a scalable, inspectable manufacturing platform not how you “wait around.”
Your claim that Eden Flasworks was just sitting around doing nothing other than watching paint dry and the Feb 2024 PR does not meana damm thing is absurd
