I find it hard to believe that anything could take almost 2 years when it comes to data and paperwork back and forth. This wasn't a 10,000 patient trial. and Advent received commercial certification already. I firmly believe they F'ed up the submission and we are now paying the price.

"taking longer because it is completely new."

NO IT IS NOT
Immuno vaccines have been around a looooong time. The ones that actually work.

How Long Have They Been Available? If including BCG: Therapeutic immuno cancer vaccines have been available for 35 years (since 1990).
If focusing on advanced cellular vaccines like Provenge: They have been available for 15 years (since 2010).

As of 2025, these remain the primary FDA-approved options, with ongoing research into neoantigen-based and mRNA vaccines (e.g., personalized trials for melanoma and pancreatic cancer) showing promise but not yet widely available. Challenges like tumor immune suppression have slowed progress, but combinations with checkpoint inhibitors are improving outcomes. For the latest trials, consult resources like ClinicalTrials.gov.
