Bigworld, Thanks for the Rinear update.

Without Trump's inflationary tariff boondoggle, the Fed would have lowered % rates early in Jan / Feb. But the Fed couldn't ease, the economy is now sputtering, and the tariff inflation is just beginning. So a real mess, and the dreaded stagflation will soon be upon us in earnest.

This week's CPI / PPI will provide another data point, but as Rinear said, these numbers are routinely 'cooked', so who knows. A helluva way to run a railroad.

It looks like some big developments could be underway in China (links below). I've been skeptical, but the info is being confirmed by various sources. It sounds like the new guy (Wang Yang?) could have a less aggressive foreign policy to Taiwan, etc.
