. At a certain point in life, it’s no longer just about money—there’s a deeper fulfillment that comes from achieving a goal or making a difference in others’ lives.
I really hope we get the approval in the next few weeks—or at least that Linda believes it’s coming, assuming she sold her house to help fund the company in a time of need. If that’s true, then her move deserves real respect. But if not, this $4–5 million won’t last more than a month, and they’ll be back in the same position again.
The MHRA is taking forever—it’s honestly so frustrating. Hearing about Les Goldman’s passing really hit me hard. It wasn’t just the loss itself—it was knowing he spent the last 12 years dedicated to this company, holding onto hope and working toward an outcome he, sadly, never got to witness. I felt a similar sense of loss when Joan Lappin passed. At a certain point in life, it’s no longer just about money—there’s a deeper fulfillment that comes from achieving a goal or making a difference in others’ lives.
Had Les and Linda made the choice back in 2020 not to start building their own privately owned CDMO, but instead stuck with Charles River Labs, then that would have freed up all the time, money, and focus needed for UK approval immediately after the data was processed and Les would very likely have lived to see that approval. Instead, they chose to build wealth for themselves at the shareholders’ expense by setting up a second (!) privately owned CDMO, pouring huge amounts of money into Advent. Money that could just as well have been invested in a second medical trial for another cancer indication, while also avoiding the financial strain NWBO now faces in funding a staff of over 100.
