Beartrap12,

Moffitt Cancer Center has been conducting a series of trials on treating breast cancer with DCs pulsed with peptides derived from HER2. Amazing results were published and there is high percentage of pathologic complete response. Here is a trial that is still recruiting.

It's my belief that Moffitt is using the 'Coca-Cola formula' owned by NWBO.

Best wishes to your cousin!

iam typing this on my cell. please bear with the typos if any.

Bear trap, breast cancer more than frequently metastasize to bones. The disease management is based on its hormone receptor status. Dc vax D can probably help if the spine metastatic lesions are active. So many times the difficulty is differentiating the lesions from active to inactive status. Like the pseudo progression  we encountered here they have something called flare phenomenon for the bone lesions. Patient shows clinical improvement with improving tumor markers  but the imaging  shows worsening bone lesions. Thanks to evolving science innovations now. They have advanced hybrid imaging help  if the patient is estrogen receptor positive. A cerianna(fluoroestrodiol) pet/ct study can identify which bone lesions are truly active metastatic lesions. The problem with breast ca bone disease is,  lesions can be destructive and make vertebral bodies to collapse and press on spinal nerves to cause pain etc. If the lesions are inactive the ortho guys can help by doing kyphoplasties and spinal fusion surgeries etc. The first course of action to the management is to identify how much of the metastatic disease is active. if there is very widespread active metastatic disease, then dcvaxD can be a helpful experimental therapy. Still, the ortho guys need to take care of the affected spine levels to give comfort to patient's pain. Others can bump as i wanted to share what i know with beartrap. 🙏🏾
