That would be a mistake. In the modern Democratic primary electorate, a white male candidate with a moderate record would face an uphill battle.
WTF? That's what primaries are for. In a general election, a good looking "moderate" (whatever the hell that means) non-Jewish, straight white male has the best chance to win the (wherever that elusive middle is) before a woman, a gay or a black person has, because this country is a prejudice shithole of a wreck.
