Regarding cataracts, initial research suggests a possible link between Sig1R and certain aspects of lens health:

Lens cells express Sig1R: Studies have shown that human lens cells express Sig1R, indicating it may play a role in their normal function.

Oxidative stress and Sig1R: Cataract development is linked to oxidative stress within the lens. Sig1R has been shown to modulate oxidative stress responses in other ocular cells, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). For example, studies in Müller glial cells, a type of retinal support cell, showed that the absence of Sig1R led to higher levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), a byproduct of oxidative stress.

Anavex's blarcamesine and/or Anavex 3-71 can prevent or improve eyesight.
