NICE is never gonna pay for DCVAX, in my opinion.
Way too expensive and results are cloudy, due to the botched PIII trial.
NICE's comfort zone is 30K or lower, and much lower in a lot of cases. DCVAX costs 150K - 250K And that is on top of surgery, hospital stays, and current SOC.
NICE Reimbursement Overview
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) does not set a specific price range for drug reimbursement in the UK. Instead, it evaluates the cost-effectiveness of treatments based on clinical evidence and economic analysis.
Key Factors Influencing Reimbursement
Cost-Effectiveness: NICE assesses whether a drug provides sufficient health benefits relative to its cost. This is often expressed in terms of cost per Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALY).
Thresholds: While there is no fixed price, NICE typically considers treatments cost-effective if they fall below a threshold of approximately £20,000 to £30,000 per QALY
