hnbadger and X, I have heard from someone via email that nidan has not passed away but is not able to post for one of various reasons: serious illness, stroke, coma (as I listed), technology, or any one of a number of health issues. He seemed somewhat knowledgeable of the person behind the nom de plume, nidan, and was positive that he is still alive.

My apologies to all who were offended by my rush to judgement on his mortal status.
