I think it’s obvious that Anavex’s credibility has been hurt by Missling’s fumbles, stumbles, goal-post moving, lack of transparency, stock promotion schemes, terrible communications, and use of ATMs to fund the company over many years. Of course there is no such thing as a perfect CEO. CEOs are human and make mistakes. I don’t expect Missling to be perfect. But there’s a difference between great CEOs who are credible in the eyes of professional biotech investors who occasionally make mistakes and a perceived buffoon who can’t put a simple sentence together without causing confusion.
Take some time to look back over the years at Missling’s track record. Everything is online. Yes, he got the MAA filed. If Blarcamesine gets approved, all will be forgiven. But it’s a fact that there are reasons to be concerned, particularly since no large-scale phase 3 trials have been done. I think it’s possible he’s thrown a hail-Mary pass simply because that’s the last shot at success for years to come.
I do hope to be wrong.
