Otherwise I assume there will be a lot of uncertainty when it comes to the cost of building these 4 nuclear power plants.

Yes.... and that's where we come in. We usually (over) finance projects. It don't really matter to us. If there is a surplus cash left at the end then it simply belongs to all the fractional owners.

Dutch government wants to build 4 nuclear power plants. And they can't find parties who are willing to finance it. Due to all the risks and uncertainties involved.

I read somewhere we need 10x as much energy 10 years down the road. Due to EV battery charging, desalination of seawater, hydrogen production, data centers.... They all need energy at night. Netherlands doesn't have much space left and we already have a lot of wind power. So it makes perfect sense to build 4 nuclear power plants if we want to be energy independent.

I'm pretty excited about it. And if we can get this done, then we can focus on the US perhaps. Because they want to build 10 nuclear power plants as well.

Netherlands is still betting big on wind power.

Currently we have roughly 6 GW on land and 4 GW at sea. Total 10 GW wind power.
The total energy requirement is close to 25 GW.

They are targeting 70 GW of wind power at sea by 2050.
To give you an idea, our 4 nuclear reactors combined are less than 6 GW.

I don't think they will add 70 GW of wind power at sea. But who knows. I'm not aware of the economics.

Even if they do add 70 GW of wind by 2050, I think we will still have a shortage.
They are underestimating the energy need of the future, as we have discussed.
It could easily be 250 GW by 2050, IMO. Up from 25 GW currently.

We are going to need a mix of wind, solar, nuclear and nat gas.
And we will need more than 4 nuclear reactors.
