The $100 million is an attempt to get others to take lightwave seriously.
That’s all. Nothing more. It could be argued that they wasted at least 90 million of that with failed attempts. And it could be argued they wasted all 100 of that because they still don’t have a product that is scalable with high enough yields.
He’s trying to take all of the wasted money and spin it in a way reverses the lack of credibility that has followed lightwave for many years. He’s hoping that since it is he that is saying this it will be taken in a positive light and not a negative light. We will see.
That says nothing pro or con that he is looking for a buyout. I recall that he shot down the buyout idea. He knows they are still early in the whole process of getting a product to market. That’s what he’s focused on. So people need to stop focusing and pumping this buyout idea.
