Gus, the construction of the tiny isolated cleanrooms is quite expensive and manufacturing that way is labor intensive, but they could still be very profitable in the long run if nothing like the EDEN existed or was thought to be on the horizon. The fact is, it does exist so no work was done to build a massive number of tiny cleanrooms. Those that were built were considered sufficient for the UK to say we had a commercial production capability which they inspected and approved.
Some argue that it's sufficient for all GBM patients in the UK, but I believe that more than 1000 patients a year could be treated there, especially once Poly-ICLC is added.
