While I actually appreciate and agree with some of what you wrote, you are very wrong with some of what you said. First of all, before I even played the short side in 2022, I was already up around 35%/year for the prior 18 years(from 2004 since on the board). almost entirely on the long side. Also the huge gain I had in 2022 at one point of 235% on the triple leveraged inverse ETF SQQQ, went down to only up 80% or so by mid 2003, as I stayed on the short side till around Sept 2023. In October 2023, I went to the long side, and I stayed around even to slightly down till Jan 2025. It has been the last 4 months in which I got beat up bad with around 10% of my portfolio. So bad in fact, that my average yearly gains have gone down to around 25%/year since 2004. Nearly 100% of these gains were on the long side, and were from solid dd, and having a consistent strategy, that I rarely deviated from. Also the 25%/year meant a lot in dollars by 2014. So much so, that I often had $500K in one stock ! Either way, your comments about my abilities on the long side are a moot point, as I've been hugely successful overall, and with big dollars.
