Wade, microcaps- my personal take is you will never ever do well in the space because you change your mind very frequently and jump in and out of positions very frequently because you have too many variables without enough company specific knowledge to know what might happen. Those two things alone make it near impossible to put much money to work in micros. The main reason it works for me is because I know the companies more than most and pay very close attention with a long time horizon. The downside is it is hard to find many companies that fit my high conviction niche.

That said, I’ve made approx 25.6% annually with money invested in company equity common shares since Jan 2006 almost solely in microcaps (calculation excludes cash and stuff like VOO and such, I’m just talking publicly traded company equity positions).

The big problem for you is:
One- I started very small back then so had a runway not worrying about size of positions much
Two- I very often these days spend months buying into positions and months or years selling out. That would never work with your style.

So at the end of the day, no need to keep asking the same thing over and over or complain about how people can get great results in tiny illiquid companies you won’t invest in. It works for some, not for others.

FWIW I hit a new all time high Friday.

PS- it is silly to ask people how big their ports are and such on a board. Even sillier when you only have 3% of your money investable in stocks without breaking bonds, showing it wouldn’t matter whether someone had a somewhat smaller or larger portfolio since you are only looking at investing 3% of your money IMO.

Just accept some are great at investing using completely different styles than you and their style may be impossible for you to mimic while others can successfully do it. I’m not at all surprised by your results. 200%+ of your gains came from a year the S&P tanked and u frequently used triple levered negative ETFS. In other words, your stock picking has been abysmal and capricious IMO.

OK back to lurking.
