I believe no tax on tips is part of the budget discussion, with a limit on how much someone can earn to qualify. I know plenty of police officers who make $ 150k per year as a base salary with overtime that brings them well over $ 200k per year. Most of them would have voted for Dump under any circumstances, but the prospect of that big OT money being tax free was icing on the cake. Sadly for them, they will almost certainly be excluded from the tax holiday.
I think he's still promising no tax on tips. But he doesn't have any plan to implement it.
