Since NICE appraisal can take several months, it seems that having this IFR in place will give patients access to DCVax-L NOW before MHRA approval and NICE appraisal. It also gives NWBO time to ramp up EDEN to meet the expected demand that a full approval will generate. Seems like a reasonable plan, as with limited initial supply, NHS can prioritize the best responders to get the vaccine.
It's inhumane to provide DCVax-L only to those that could raise the necessary funds. So many people probably gave up, choosing to financially protect their families before their own medical needs. And with the INDICATION changed from GLIOBLASTOMA to CANCER, many other patients like Alice with metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma might get the vaccine. Don't make me leak.
