CC Update:

1. Cancer Chollie kalt me today. He was in Boston for the Easter week with his wife's relatives. He got my voicemail and text while having dinner with the fambly and made a mental note to reply and then forgot (he still has some short-term memory issues from the metastatic tumor removed from his brain last summer- and from his 5 years of chemotherapy of various types. He did email me Sunday night, butt I din't Czech my email and dint see it.

2. His three lung mets are continuing to grow per his most recent scans. His local NC oncologist wants to switch him from his current relatively mild chemo (Keytruda and Cabometyx) to a fourth-line more aggressive (with rough side effects) chemo including taxol or taxotere - which, like his previous cisplatin, is nott an easy chemo agent as far as side effects go (hair loss, nausea, diarrhea, confusion, fatigue, myalgia, general shitiness feeling). At Chollie's request, the local onco consulted with the adrenal adenocarcinoma specialist onco at UMich to approve this chemo change and, if possible, delay the switch until later in the summer as Chollie has a son graduating U in May and will start a finance yobb in Chicago and his daughter (BSME, Stanford) is moving to Chicago in June as a manufacturing engineer. Chollie would like to get his two kids set up in Chitown before he starts the debilitating taxol/taxotere regimen. He meets with his local onco tomorrow to find ~OUTT what she and the UMich expert decided as his best course from here.

3. The decrease in elevation from 6500-7000 feet at his old place in Utah to 700 feet at his new home in NC helps his oxygenation, but the lung met growth has kinda balanced ~OUTT that improvement and he now has the same old exercise tolerance limits that he had in Utah. He can't really do a full grocery shopping, butt he did manage to find the stamina to buy new fishing gear at a local Bass Pro Shop. Many of his old lures melted in his tacklebox when they were in the moving van during the summer move, so he replaced them and also a new rod and spinning reel. So if he's motivated, he is able to shop for important stuff like fishing gear, butt nott unimportant stuff like groceries. <g> He has his priorities straight!

4. I was pretty worried about him when he didn't reply to my contact attempts last week, so when I heard him on the call a wave of relaxation went thru me. We tawked until my mobile phone battery started to beep as it does when it is low on energy. Then we exchanged a few emails. Ergo, all is OK for now. Pending the chemo switch decision and timing thereof. As always, he sounded "up" and lively. This made me happy.

5. His wife (a breast cancer patient - bilateral/double mastectomy) is doing well. She is on maintenance chemo, which is nott very harsh, and her scans remain clear and presumptively cancer-free/undetectable. She also went thru some rough chemo pre- and post-operatively, butt that is (hopefully) now all in her rearview mirror. However, she still has the chronic side effects from those chemo treatments. They are cumulative.

6. CC and his wife are prolly one of the rare heterosexual couples who have both had breast cancer. Chollie had a breast adenocarcinoma removed when he was in his late teens; males can get breast cancer butt it's pretty rare. In the past, he has also had colon polyps removed in his early 50s and the histopathology indicated they were borderline malignant but had clean margins of resection. So CC seems a bit neoplasm-prone. Nonetheless, he's hanging in there. So long as he retains the will to fish, I know he's OK. The general rule is that hearing is the last thing to go as you're crumping, butt hearing goes before you lose the will to fish. That's the last before the light blinks~OUTT.

7. I see that AdminShelly failed to perform an Easter miracle by restoring my posting privilege to full status (i.e., I'm still at a 3/day limitation), so I shan't need your assistance in translating a recommendation to DaPope for her beatification. Indeed, her failure to pull off an Easter resurrection of my full iHub account is, IMO, very likely causative in regard to DaPope pulling the ejection handle and leaving his Earthly container. I have sent my CV to the Vatican and am hopeful that I may become the first openly atheist Roman Catholic pope. If elected, I will need you to serve as my translator as my Talyun is limited to "scusi" and my Latin is mebbe a dozen words at most. Of course, you will have to relocate to Vatican City or at least Rome. I presume that would be acceptable, as would the overgenerous compensation package. Pray for me in the Collitch of Cardinals voting tournament. I will need to bribe a lott of them. I expect to be given an initial low seeding in a very competitive bracket on the Pope Tournament bracket sheet.
