Thank you. Well, as you get older, you realize life isn’t about money beyond what you need to sustain life.
I got all this stock and great things happening in the future here …all the money from the sale of my businesses and we go along and then get hit with something like this you realize wow I think maybe my priorities need to be rearranged a bit.
Though I’ve never been a show boat. I do have a couple nice cars but we still live in the same home we moved into on this property when we were 25 I think maybe it’s 1300 ft.² tore down this old homestead that’s been here for years to one wall and rebuilt it into something small but comfortable and I was gone 10 to 11 hours a day six days a week for all those years…..it ain’t much when people know what I’ve done and only one or two close friends know what we have then see the house they laugh their ass off. Raised my kids here. When you got in an argument, you couldn’t run very far you’d hit the wall..
Yep, I live on this hundred acres that’s been in the family since I was 12 . Two miles from where I was born . I was born on Good Friday the day Jesus died …quite a swap of circumstances.
My 100-year-old mom lives on the property and my brother who is older than I he and his wife spend a lot of time in Arizona and I do most of the work on the grounds, Kabota tractor pulling a triple blade mower weed eating ponds, overseeing the ponds getting cleaned out by my friend who brought his excavator and I hired two dump trucks to run from the ponds to the back of the property to dump all the hundreds of yards of fill, mostly clay that came out of those 3 ponds now having to reseed part of the fields for the steel tracks ripped up the grass. Plus constantly picking up limbs dealing with trees that have fallen due to the nature of old alders…It’s constant and a lot and maybe it means we need to move. I don’t know ..breaks my heart..
I had a 35 year career … she supported me every bit of the way so it ain’t about me anymore. Decisions…
Oh yes, the best thing about today is I get to go bring her home and I’ve already cleaned the fire pit out in the yard in the back and we’re just gonna sit with a nice fire… and I’m gonna sit in awe of her strength and thank God with how lucky I am. Oh yeah, Plus a special prayer to you and your wife who has cancer.
