Well Vietnam did offer a 0% tariff and almost all the countries involved are trying to negotiate. Doesn't sound crazy to me. LoL Although full disclosure, I'm not a left wing nut job, so maybe that's why it doesn't sound crazy.
And you never complained when China and Vietnam and every other country had tariffs on us?! Every other country has a tariff surplus. We are the only idiots who don't and everyone happily went along with it. Even I did because I didn't really understand or care until Trump brought it to our attention. Now we are remaking the trading landscape. Yes, there will be pain temporarily but we will be much better for it. One small example: why is ok for us to accept and buy all the foreign cars but for us not to be able to sell our cars to other countries or to do so at a very steep cost? That's why you see the auto makers coming out in favor of these tariffs. More importantly though it is a national security issue. During WWII we had a massive advantage and were able to quickly ramp up a huge military industrial complex and we won the war because of it. We don't have that ability anymore. We need to bring critical infrastructure and manufacturing back to this country and fast and that is exactly what's happening. Go FNMA!
