Harvard announces free tuition for students whose families make $200K or less

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/03/17/harvard-free-tuition/82489447007/

Harvard will begin offering free tuition to students who come from families with annual incomes of $200,000 or less, the Ivy League university based in Cambridge, Massachusetts announced on Monday.....

Good for Harvard, looks like they are doing fine financially.....Wonder if they lifted that freeze on PhD prospects over the 'possibility of loss of gov funding......

Updated: I think you are totally right. Feel that too. "Then what?" Then Trump would blame the Democrats more,
and even some on his own side if he felt like it. Then there would be more acrimonious talk. And more conflict.

And who gains from more conflict? Trump and Musk would revel in it. More conflict would distract
from the actual serious damage they, even without a shutdown, have been able to get away with.

However there has been more and more pushback. The courts, which would be at least relatively
out of action in a shutdown, are still fully in play, and in the deportation area some legal experts
are saying clearly that the Trump administration has actually defied judicial orders.

That is progress for our side.

Update: On pushback, just saw: Roberts rejects Trump’s call for impeaching judge who ruled against his deportation plans
