He would have more believing the shutdown was Dems fault than not. And he and Musk would be jangling the key to the government a shutdown would have given them. Laughing all the way to their party.

You're right. And.... eventually people all over the country would start missing things they need from government. Those who were still working for it would need their salaries. People on Social Security would need their benefits. Sick people would need treatment.
