RMB, actually, we really only have UK and Spain right now. I'm not sure we have sold any product in any other country in EU yet (even though many have been approved).
I suspect that it is just too costly for them to set up a sales teams in all of the smaller European countries right now.
And if you look at our results in EU versus RoW (where we partner), it becomes quite clear that Amarin just isn't built to sell. We are (were) an R&D organization. Building out an entire sales organization from the ground up in Europe has not been economical or efficient. But Amarin and Sarissa presumably have only done this in the absence of the ability to sell the company. And probably why they will not begin selling in the small EU countries at all (but rather, just let the eventual buyer handle that).
The only countries worth building a sales presence in are Germany, UK, France, Italy, and Spain. Not sure if you can sell to the Nordic countries with one sales group. And possibly use the same sales force in countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria as you would have from France or Germany (when/if they go online).
Mind you, we don't have the 2 biggies - France and Germany - so that factors into it.
